Remember when...
We've all had to complete a research paper in our lifetimes. Sometimes we were allowed to choose a topic and sometimes we were assigned a topic. Either way, researching can be a long and tedious process. Share a time when you really enjoyed researching a topic and why you enjoyed it. Also, share a time where you were really excited to be finished! What made the research paper difficult?

Your blog looks great! It's very appealing! It's been such a long time since I had to write a research paper. A good experience I had was when I got to write about No Child Left Behind in college. In my freshman writing class, we had to choose a topic within education and take a position. I learned so much about the topic that was pretty important to my career field. One negative memory about research papers happened for me in 10th grade political science. We were allowed to choose our own topic and the guidelines were very vague, and I got an F on the paper! I was so upset and cried for the first time about grades. Ick!
ReplyDeleteI too think that your blog looks great. I love how it is centered and the polls and reminders about writing contest deadlines on the sidebar. My favorite experience when writing a research paper came in college when I had to do a Historiography. I looked at the treatment of African Americans immediately after major wars (most wars African Americans were credited with turing the tide in our favor) by various historians. I looked at historians writing after the Revolutionary War, Civil War and WWI to see how they compared and then I looked at how African American images changed. Several years later, one of the historians I researched taught a week-long seminar at Yale that I attended.
